According to a news that has published in The Economic Times, Unacademy has bought PrepLadder for more than 50 million dollars, the sold amount is in the form of cash and stocks. For those who don't know about Unacademy, it is an Indian online education technology company based in Bangalore. It provides the paid online courses related to almost every subject including NEET and JEE entrances as well. At the time of purchase, PrepLadder has the subscriber count of nearly about 150K.
Now, the question arises why would someone willing to pay this much amount for a You tube video channel which has only 150K subscribers? But, here is the deal PrepLadder is one of the fastest growing online medical YouTube channel in India which makes the YouTube video content related to medical and health. This is not an individual channel, there are about more than 250 people who are currently working altogether for this channel. Unacademy has bought the channel ownership rights but the workers will not lose their jobs, they will be paid monthly for making the video content in the future.
An another YouTube channel sold out for Rs.70 Crores and this YouTube channel has also been bought by Unacademy.
