Problem:
Today, there are several unmanned railway crossing which potentially increases the rate of accidents while crossing these unmanned railway gate crossings. Every year many people and animals lose their lives due to such accidents. For Example "The Amritsar Train Disaster, 19th Oct 2018". So, our challenge is to make an AI model having the MASK -R CNN module in order to prevent these accidents.

Solution:
There is one way to prevent these kinds of accidents. We can use the AI camera setup and infrared sensors having MASK -R CNN model to detect human and animal activity. The AI camera will have the capability of differentiating between humans and animals from other objects with the help of the MASK -R CNN model and the IR sensor detects the motion. And this system will enable the automatic operation of the gate by closing it once the motion of humans and animals detected and it also activates the alarm system connected to this model and sends an alarming message to train drivers also so that they will come to know that there are people or animals on the track and can get enough time to stop the train.
So, potentially this AI system can prevent accidents and hence can save the lives of people and animals in rural and urban areas of India.
